Sharing Versus a Discount
Sharing means eligible medical bills can be submitted after your IUA. A discount means you pay the provider a lower cash fee. All six paid hops leave vision out of sharing. Does Zion or Knew share an eye exam?
No. Both plan files list vision as false, same as dental. An eye exam or pair of glasses is out of pocket unless a separate discount card is involved. A medical need that happens to involve the eye (injury, surgery) is a different category and still has to clear the IUA and guidelines.
Is a vision discount the same as vision insurance?
No. A discount is a reduced fee at a participating provider. Vision insurance is a regulated product with its own exam and hardware benefits. Neither is health sharing. Sedera's TRU layer is the discount path we publish.
Which hop should I use if I also want vision discounts?
