Arizona Health Sharing Plans 2026: Age Bands, Snowbirds, and Who Can Enroll
Arizona’s useful fact is not a ban. It is age. Sharing memberships price by band. A 32-year-old in Phoenix and a 62-year-old snowbird in Tucson are not looking at the same monthly number, and the 62-year-old is the one who most often discovers that “cheap sharing” has already climbed toward an unsubsidized ACA quote. Medicare at 65 ends this conversation.
No Arizona individual mandate. Full payable menu. This URL does not recut the national 2026 ranking or the Arizona state directory.
Arizona’s legal status
Mandate: None. Arizona is not on NCSL’s mandate list. No state penalty for skipping minimum essential coverage.
Insurance: Sharing is not insurance. NAIC: no guarantee fund, no Department of Insurance duty to make a ministry pay.
AHCCCS. Arizona expanded Medicaid (AHCCCS). If you qualify, that card is regulated coverage. Do not drop it for a voluntary share. Official eligibility: azahcccs.gov.
Not hostile. Sedera’s official “not accepting” list is WA, VT, PA, NM, CA. Knew Health’s is WA, VT, IL, NY, PA, MD, CA, OR. Arizona is on neither. Zion excludes Washington only.

CrowdHealth’s own rate note matters in Arizona: crowdfunding caps rise at 55–64 (up to $280/mo per adult in the published FAQ math, vs $140 under 55). A “$140 average” blurb is the under-55 story.
Individual vs family cost — and why age dominates here
Zion live table: 18–29 at the $5,000 IUA is the $114 floor. 50–64 at the $1,250 IUA is the $320 individual ceiling. Families $334–$899. A 58-year-old couple is shopping the top of the couple band ($205–$617), not the blog-graphic “from $114.”
CrowdHealth: under-55 individual $60–$200; 55–64 individual can run to about $340 on the published cap math. Family of four $240–$660 when adults are under 55.
Medi-Share: $115–$470 individual; $390–$850 family. Age still moves the contribution. Faith required.
If you are 63, get a real ACA quote on HealthCare.gov (Arizona uses the federal marketplace) and a real sharing quote in the same week. Do not enroll from a 35-year-old example.

Winner: Zion HealthShare (working-age households)
For Arizona adults under 65 who do not qualify for AHCCCS or a fat ACA subsidy, Zion is the paid winner: no faith requirement, full menu available in-state, day-one exceptions for hypertension, cholesterol, and diabetes when the 12-month hospitalization test is met. Medi-Share is the paid Christian option, not the default. CrowdHealth only if you are healthy and you price the correct age band. At 65, Medicare is the primary path — sharing is not a Medicare supplement we will sell you as one.
CHM and Samaritan: unpaid faith alternatives. Never enroll CTAs. Never the winner. Presidio is not a health-sharing plan we recommend.
Arizona-specific notes
Banner, Dignity, HonorHealth, Yuma Regional, Flagstaff Medical Center. Summer heat ER volume is real. Know your IUA in cash before monsoon season, not after.
Snowbirds. A membership that follows you between Minnesota and Scottsdale is a feature of no-network plans. It is not a reason to skip Medicare once you are eligible.
Split households. One spouse on Medicare and one on sharing is a common AZ pattern. Price them separately. Do not average the two.
When an Arizona ACA plan still wins
Subsidies, AHCCCS eligibility, age bands that erase the monthly gap, or a condition that cannot wait out a phase-in.
