Zion shares prescription costs when the drug treats an eligible sharing request, a licensed provider orders it, and Zion approves it. Sharing in those costs is limited to 12 months. What the 12-Month Limit Actually Means
The clock starts on an approved prescription that belongs to an eligible need. A short course after surgery or an infection usually finishes well inside a year, so the limit never shows up. A refill you expect to take for life is a different math problem. After month 12, that fill is yours.
Zion can still share the underlying need. Controlled blood pressure, cholesterol, and both types of diabetes share from day one when you have been hospitalization-free for 12 months and can manage them with medication or diet. The visit and the diagnosis are one question. The ongoing bottle is another.
Published Exclusions Worth Knowing
Allergy medication is out. So are medications for mental health conditions, and prescriptions tied to neurodivergent diagnoses such as ADHD, autism, or sensory processing disorder. Which prescriptions does Zion exclude?
